Giants Wrap Up Mariners, Home Stand – Fly South to Face Padres for FOUR, With Designs on 2nd in NL West

Yeah, I said it. The Giants are going down to Petco to take three of four. They will win the series and when the dust settles the G-men will be 26-22 and the Padres 29-20.

We may not catch them, but all we have to do is be within three games on that final weekend against the Pads at home. In fact, our last SEVEN games are at home against the Rockies and Padres. We have a legitimate shot at 2nd place.

In fact there is a long history of the Padres being suckers. We’ve robbed ’em, the Bums have … the D-Backs, too. The huge moves they made to try to take the Division away may end up causing changes in chemistry that send them the opposite direction. It’s our job to make that happen … again.

We have seven games left to play against the Friars and we’re only four and a half back. But if we want to show the league we’re for real, we gotta walk into Petco with swagger – that’s a Giants Baseball Corner in San Diego, baby. We gotta go down and take three of these four and put some scare into them for when they come up for the last series of the season.

The oft-injured Trevor Cahill (0-0, 2.65) will be taking the mound tonight against Chris Paddack (3-4, 4.75).

Though Cahill has made five starts, he has only once made it out of the fourth. Twice he was removed because he was hampered by inflammation in his left hip. Hopefully the injured right index fingernail, and the hip pointer are behind him now and we can finally see a quality start.

While Paddack started the season hot, he is just 1-4 over his last six starts.

Let’s Go Giants!

Beat the Friars

Pound the Padres

San Diego is Giants territory!
