Oracle Park Homers by Lee, Smith, Ramos, Chapman and Bailey Support Webb’s 14th Victory; Giants 11, D’Backs 5

The Giants had 11 runs on 12 hits as the bats came back in a big way to support Logan Webb and get him his 14th win.

Webb gave up four runs, but only one of them was earned. The Giants overcame two errors in this one. Logan, meanwhile achieved his 200th strikeout of the season. The Strikeout God nickname was legit.

It was a gritty win against an NL West Division rival.

Jung Hoo Lee homered in the 2nd, Dominic Smith in the 3rd. Heliot Ramos hit a big fly in the 6th, Matt Chapman smashed one in the 7th. Patrick Bailey who had an RBI on a sac fly in the 6th, also homered, in the 8th.

Five separate Giants homered at Oracle in this one.

The Pads beat the Reds and the Bums beat the Rox. But the Mets, Cubs, Brewers and Cards all lost today. A pathway to the wild card still exists.

It increased our chances of making the playoffs from 3% to the highest it has been, 4.6%.

The Giants are three back of the Mets for the second WC, and seven back of the division lead.

A lot could happen if we keep hitting homers.

Let’s Go Giants!
