Logan Webb couldn’t throw strikes. Again. The Oakland Athletics made him pay. Again. Matt Olson went yard for a three-run homer. Again. His third of the season against the Giants. And the Giants lost 0 – 6, but it was on a night that saw Yaz resting his calf as day-to-day and big changes in the outfield. Not really a ‘normal’ lineup, if we can say that the month of September has had one.
The A’s have clinched the playoffs now but can still clinch the Division over the Asterisks, for which their magic number is two. They are motivated to get those two wins against a weaker squad like the Giants.
That said, I think Kapler and the Giants saved the best lineups for the two day games of this series. Kevin Gausman is on the mound for the Giants today and they’re facing a lefty in Jesus Luzardo, that the Giants blasted when the clubs met at Oracle, knocking him out after three and a third.
Let’s Goooooo Giants
Vamanos Gigantes
Beat the A’s!
