Well, the Giants are under .500 again at (75-76). They fall to two games back of third in the division and the chance of a postseason berth diminishes to almost nil. Technically, it’s 1.8%.
Tristan Beck started for the Giants and, staked to a four run lead, couldn’t hold the Diamondbacks, giving up three runs in three innings. Trevor McDonald relieved Beck in the 4th and 5th and gave up the two runs that tied this game until the 9th.
Joey Lucchesi held the 7th, Jose Butto managed the 8th and got introuble in the 9th and Ryan Walker blew the game again, giving up the walk-off.
It will be Verlander tomorrow. I don’t think it’s going to be a good day for the old man. But he has truly surprised me in his last two outings, showing real command and relying less on that strikeout fastball.
Sigh.
The Giants would have to win today and sweep the Bums.y9 be back on the postseason hunt.
C’mon boys! Beat the Snakes!
