From the beginning of the season, I have thought it pointless to think we are winning the division, because the Billionaire Bums are stacked. This offended Dennis at the Silver Spur because he thinks it is moronic thinking. “Always play to win the division.” He said, firmly.
Since we finished a lowly fourth last year, I thought it was more about focusing on the wildcard standings and staying ahead of the Cards, Phils, Braves and either the D’Backs or the Pads. But you know what? Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe Bob Melvin can really do this with these guys.
Every year, here at Giants Baseball Corner, we state that we aren’t watching the standings until June 15th. Of course, as a matter of passion, I’m always aware of where the Pads, Snakes, Rox and Bums are in the standings, I’m not counting games ahead or back.
And now here we stand. a game back of the Dodgers for the division lead before our first series in Chavez Ravine. It is time to start the Standings Watch of 2025.
