Willy Adames’ Breakout Game at the Plate: Two Homers and a Double Backing Logan Webb’s 4th Win; Giants 9, Rockies 3

I called the first few innings of this one. Willy Adames’ first AB was a good one that culminated like this:

and his second AB was a carbon copy:

Logan Webb looked a little tentative, giving up a couple of walks and scattering six hits across seven innings, but he managed six Ks and locked it down to keep the Rockies from ever getting a lead.

The story of this one was Willy Adames smashing two homers and a stand up double.

Spencer Bivens struggled in the eighth, giving up two earned, but the Giants had built up an eight-run lead to make it immaterial.

Lou Trivino gave up a couple of hits in the 9th, but then held it down in a non-save situation.

Good win against a bad team, that we should have swept at home. Taking three of four was. ‘bare minimum’ requirement.

Kudos to the bottom of the order today! LaMonte Wade, Jr., Luis Matos and Patrick Bailey were all 2 for 4, and the rookie Christian Koss, who was exemplary at 2nd, had a hit as well.

The Billionaire Bums keep winning – seven in a row – and the Padres have won five in a row starting with that brace down in SD.
