Giants Play Poor Defense After Transcontinental Flight; Webb Matches Career High 12 Ks in Loss; Giants 0, Angels 2

The Giants looked tired. Logan Webb looked great despite the travel. Though he gave up two runs, one was scored to an error by Matt Chapman, and he matches a career high 12 strikeouts, warning the team nickname The Strikeout God.

The Giants defense was not good tonight and has not looked great lately. But it’s 2,710 miles from Philly to LA.

The Gauntlet of seventeen straight games started with this ten game road trip, that included NY and Philly on the front end.

Fact is, the infield hasn’t gelled yet.

I can see it well-oiled and humming – all the constituent parts are there. But it hasn’t come together. Adames is not yet comfortable. He’s neither tight nor loose. He is still trying to find out how he fits in on a team where our Willies were Mac and Mays.

The bats were quiet tonight … except of course for Jung Hoo Lee, who showed off a loping infield bunt-hit, and an inside-out single to left.

Red-hot Jung Hoo Lee is batting .361 and leads the majors in doubles.

🤯

Willy Adames isn’t so much in a slump as can’t seem to get the rhythm started. The kid is so good when he is loose and having fun. Gotta find that.

The Giants have started their Gauntlet of seventeen straight games by going 4 – 4.

I had hoped for at least a 6-4 road trip.

Let’s Go Giants!
