Logan Webb looks good. Other than a solo shot to Jose Altuve, he was sharp and in command throughout this start, scattering five hits across seven innings, with six strikeouts. He was aided by a much-improved, crisp defense that turned double-plays to end threats.
Tyler Rogers held the eighth, despite giving up a couple of hits, and Ryan Walker got his second save.
On offense, small ball via walks led to two runs on an RBI-double by Willy Adames, and Heliot Ramos slugged his third home run of the young season.
The Giants are 4 – 1 after starting the first two series on the road. They have won their first two series of the season – against a solid NL team and a solid AL team.
Heliot Ramos and Wilmer Flores and Matt Chapman have bomberoes, and Jung Ho Lee, Willy Adames and Mike Yastrzemski are hitting comfortably.
Bob Melvin is making swift, decisive in-game moves.
The men look sharp.
Let’s go, Giants!
